Appliance Installation in Charlotte, NC

Most early failures start at the install

A surprising share of the repair calls we take on nearly new appliances are installation faults, not appliance faults. A dryer vented into flexible foil with two crushed elbows that never dries a load. A dishwasher that will not drain because the disposal inlet plug was left in. A front-loader walking across a laundry room with the shipping bolts still fitted. A refrigerator pushed back onto its own water line. None of those are broken appliances, and all of them were avoidable at the point of install.

How we install

So we install the way we would want to find it on a service call. That means checking the opening and the provisions before anything is unboxed (power type and location, water supply and shut-off, drain, gas connection and vent route), and telling you about a problem while it is still cheap to solve. Then the appliance itself: shipping restraints removed, leveled properly on the actual floor, water lines fitted with the right connector and valve, drain hoses run with a correct high loop or air gap, dryer vent done in rigid or semi-rigid duct on the shortest practical route, gas connections leak-checked, and doors and panels aligned so a heavy panel does not drag a hinge out of line over the first year. Every install ends with a test cycle and, where there is one, a leak check: the appliance runs before we leave.

What we install

We install what we service: refrigerators including built-in and panel-matched columns, washers and dryers, dishwashers, ranges and cooktops, wall ovens and built-in microwaves. Built-in work is where professional fitting earns its keep, because the appliance has to sit square in existing joinery, accept an existing panel, and meet the water and power that are already there. Two scope notes so nothing is a surprise: countertop and over-the-counter microwaves are not something we service or install, though built-in microwaves are, and we do not handle small appliances. We work residential and commercial alike.

What your technician checks

  • Opening dimensions and clearances against the actual unit
  • Power type, location and capacity at the point of use
  • Water supply, shut-off valve condition and drain provision
  • Gas connection and leak check where applicable
  • Vent route material, length and elbow count for dryers
  • Shipping restraints removed and the unit leveled on the real floor
  • Door, drawer and panel alignment under final weight
  • Test cycle run and leak check before we leave

Installation faults we get called out to fix

Not generic troubleshooting. These are the faults that repeat on Charlotte service calls, and what each symptom usually turns out to be.

Dryer vented in foil flex with crushed elbows

The most common install fault in the city, and the reason a new dryer never dries. Rigid or semi-rigid duct on the shortest practical run fixes the drying complaint and stops the machine cooking its own thermal fuse.

Dishwasher that will not drain from day one

The disposal inlet plug left in place, or a drain hose run without a high loop or air gap. Both get booked as a faulty new dishwasher, and neither is an appliance fault.

Front-loader walking across the floor

Shipping bolts still fitted, or the machine sitting unlevel on an uneven laundry floor. It sounds like catastrophic failure on the first spin. It is a ten-minute correction.

Refrigerator pushed back onto its own water line

A kinked or crushed supply line gives you no ice, no water, and eventually a leak behind a unit nobody wants to pull out. The fix is routing and a proper valve at install time.

Built-in sitting proud, or a panel dragging a hinge

A column or dishwasher not square in the opening, or a heavy custom panel hung without adjusting the hinge and closer. It shows up months later as a door that will not seal and a cooling or cleaning complaint that is really a mechanical one.

Gas range connected but never leak-checked

Not negotiable. Every gas connection we make is leak-checked before the appliance is signed off, and if we find an existing connection that was not, we will tell you.

What we do and do not service

We install and service built-in and wall-mounted microwaves. Countertop and over-the-counter microwaves, and small appliances such as blenders, coffee machines and vacuums, are outside our scope.

Why Charlotte homeowners call us for appliance installation

Four things we commit to on every call, whatever the appliance is doing.

  • Same-day when you need it

Cooling failures and leaking washers get the earliest slot on the board. Call before noon for the best chance at today.

  • Genuinely local

Our technicians work these neighborhoods every week. They know the housing stock, the brand mix and the appliances that fill these kitchens.

  • Priced before we start

A flat rate quoted in your kitchen, approved by you before any work begins. No hourly meter, no surprise on the invoice.

  • Guaranteed work

Completed repairs are backed on parts and labor. If the same fault comes back inside the window, so do we.

21 years of appliance repair

Experience you can hear in the first five minutes

Appliance EMT has repaired appliances since 2005, now across 12 states and here in Charlotte. That is thousands of kitchens and laundry rooms, and the pattern recognition that comes with them. A technician who has seen the same evaporator fan ice up a hundred times does not need to guess at the hundred and first.

It is the difference between replacing parts until something works and knowing which part failed before the panel is off. One costs you a morning. The other costs you several, and the price of every part that was not the problem.

Appliance Installation FAQs: Charlotte, NC

Will you install an appliance I bought somewhere else?

Yes. Where the appliance came from does not matter: the provisions in your home do. Tell us the make and model when you call and we will check the power, water, drain, gas and vent requirements against what is actually there before the appointment.

Do you install built-in and panel-matched appliances?

Yes, and that is where professional installation matters most. A built-in has to sit square in existing joinery, take an existing custom panel, and work with the water and power already provided. Alignment done properly at install is what stops a door sealing badly a year later.

Do you haul away the old appliance?

Ask when you book. Removal depends on the unit and the access, so we would rather confirm it on the phone than have the question come up in your kitchen.

Do you install countertop microwaves?

No. Countertop and over-the-counter microwaves are outside our scope, as are small appliances. Built-in and wall-mounted microwaves are serviced and installed.

Is the installation tested before you leave?

Always. Every install ends with a test cycle and, where the appliance uses water or gas, a leak check. Gas connections are leak-checked without exception.
